JAZZ FESTIVAL
Performers:

FINUCCI BROS QUARTET – The quartet was founded by the twins Roland Balogh (winner of the jazz guitar competition of Montreux) and Zoltán Balogh. They play classical jazz with fusion and groove elements.

DRESCH QUARTET – The saxophonist Mihály Dresch got this year the lifetime achievement award of the Hugarian Jazz Academy. His ensemble alloys the jazz with the folkmusic.

BORBÉLY MŰHELY – “The Jazz Ensemble of the Year 2004” alloys the jazz with the folkmusic from the Carpathians and the Balkans.

SZALÓKY ÁGI – The young folksinger performances songs of the biggest Hungarian diva Katalin Karády (the first movie star from the 30’s), accompanied by excellent jazz musicians.

The Csík ensemble is a well-known and beloved ensemble in Hungary, it alloys the authentic folkmusic and the popular pop-rock music. They got several awards.

17th of July
VUJCSICS ENSEMBLE
The 35-years old ensemble collected the folk songs and tunes of the Serbian minority from the surrandings of Budapest. The adaptations are characterized by their honour to the folklore and their highly developed artistic approach.

24th of July
VIRTUOSO EVENING
Virtuosos of all style (jazz, world music, folkmusic) and all musical instruments come together this evening to play folkmusic. They do this in their very own style, which makes the performance really special. Two excellent singers will contribute to this evening.

CONCERT OF KATALIN SZVORÁK
Katalin Szvorák is a well-known folk singer. In the first part of the concert she will perform folksongs in contemporary style, in the second part she will sing chorals.
She is accompanied by Judit Andrejszki, a baroque singer, organ player and Péter Pejtsik guitar and violin player, composer.

SZÁSZCSÁVÁSI ENSEMBLE
Szászcsávás is a small village (with only 900 people) in Transylvania. In this village have lived many gipsy musician generations. The ensemble has a wide repertoire of traditional transylvanian “string-dance music”. They play gipsy, Hungarian and Romanian melodies.

The Mitsoura ensemble is mixing the traditional gipsy music with the contemporary, electronical music style. The particular voice of the singer Mónika Juhász Miczura makes the songs very special

Absorb some culture and Mediterranean atmosphere in Szentendre! The last weekend of the summer means the Szentendre Non-Stop fest, with the town turning into a huge exhibition hall and the centre will be packed with concerts, light shows, open-air theatre, culinary treats and more!
