The Community Centre, an institution of the town since 1992, can be found in the former Péchy Villa, a turreted town house in the town’s centre on the waterfront. It is the scene of cultural and freetime activities of local and area residents. Centre activities include courses and study groups. Its basement club, the 'Barlang' (Cave) is a popular meeting place of local youth.
The Centre is also the home of the town’s three significant art ensembles: Musica Beata Choir, the Szentendre Folkdance Ensemble and the Szentendre Chamber Orchestra. In summer, theatre performances are held in the yard.
This Centre also participates in several events of significant interest to tourists: the Szentendre Spring Festival, the Szentendre Summer Festival – Szentendre Open Air Theatre, Ister Days and Advent in Szentendre.
In addition to its function as a cultural venue, the Danube Bank Community Centre serves as the headquarters of the Cultural and Art Institutions of Szentendre, a consortium founded in 2002 by the Szentendre self-government and consisting of the Szentendre Theatre, the Art Mill and the Community Centre itself.
